A handful of supporters of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange held a #Candles4Assange vigil close to the US embassy, next to the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin on Wednesday, demanding his release.
Assange's father John Shipton was also present at the gathering, and spoke about his son's condition.
"This is developing slowly into a tragedy, and this tragedy is deliberate. Julian is under extreme psychological pressure and as a consequence he suffers anxiety and physical decline," he said.
Similar rallies in support of Assange were also held in Cologne and Dusseldorf.
Assange is currently serving a 50-week sentence in Belmarsh for breaching bail in 2012. He is facing an extradition request on espionage charges related o publishing classified military and diplomatic documents in 2010.
